Creative campaign to discourage plastic bags backfires spectacularly

Editors trying to come up with catchy book titles and covers use the airplane test: “Would you be embarrassed to read this on an airline where people could see the book cover?” A grocery in Vancouver turned this idea on its head and tried to come up with embarrassing phrases to put on their plastic bags so people wouldn’t want to carry them. Unfortunately they’re so clever, people are collecting them like baseball cards. To give you a flavor, one says, “The Colon Care Co-op.”

Might I suggest instead the bags should simply say, “I was too stupid and thoughtless to bring my own bag.”
