Impossible Burger soon to be possible in groceries

Sept 2019—Impossible Burger, the ‘bleeding’ vegan burger, will soon be available in groceries. The engineered flavoring that gives it the real meat taste passed the FDA.

I just has my first at a restaurant in Minneapolis’s sprawling Mall of America. To date, it’s only been available in restaurants and fast food joints, presumably because there are controls over cooking and meat temperature.

While it’s been decades since I had a meat burger, it seemed the consistency, flavor and visible texture resembles a medium rare all-beef patty from my childhood. People used to over-cooked fast food burgers might find that startling. The outside of the patty looked a bit like a chicken burger but it had the seared grill taste of beef.
